Online card class Day 1 & 2!

Hi friends!  I had some time yesterday afternoon to get a bit caught up on my homework for Online Card class days 1 and 2.  For my first card I used the Antler Snowflake stencil that Monica at Add a Little Dazzle carries in her online store.  For my misting I used my spritzer tool and marker.  It worked quite well and I was happy with the result.  I followed the sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch!

Here is my card for Day 2.

For this card I used the tracing technique that Kristina shared.  I created my own stencil using Papertrey's Chevron Vertical cover plate.  For my colors I used SU's watercolor pencils.  I followed the sketch at Seize the Sketch.

ETA:  My card also fits over at CASology.

Thank you for visiting and have a great day!

Merry Monday #93

Hi friends.  Time for another Merry Monday challenge.  This week we want you to use an ornament(s) on your Christmas card.

My sequins are from Paulina over at Pretty Pink Posh.  I love how these sequins are flat instead of curved on the edges.  I used a multipurpose adhesive sheet to adhere my sequins.  Some of them weren't sticking well so I just attached those with some glossy accents.

I hope you will join us this week to get a head start on your Christmas cards for 2014.  Make sure you check out the other DT members cards over at the Merry Monday challenge blog.

Thank you for visiting and have a great day!

Cardstock:  Whisper White
Accessories:  Holiday Ornament framelits, sequins (Pretty Pink Posh), Merry Christmas die (SSS), Stitched rectangles (Lil' Inker), White ribbon

Festive Friday, CAS(E) this Sketch! & The Card Concept

Happy Friday friends!  My card is for this week's Festive Friday , CAS(E) this Sketch & The Card Concept challenges.  Love both of these challenges and they fit together perfectly this week.

Here is the inspiration photo for Festive Friday...

and the sketch...

The Card Concept challenge want us to use texture.  I used the Tim Holtz embossing folder on my Clean & Layered card.

I am sure you can see exactly how I was inspired.  You can't see it in the photo but I used my Wink of Stella clear glitter pen on the snow beneath the house.

While I have you I want to share a sneak peek of my latest Trends Article at StampNation.

Can you guess what I featured?  To find out you will have to check out StampNation.  Not a member yet?  What are you waiting for?  You are missing out on an amazing community filled with lots of ideas, exclusive videos, and SO much more.

Hi friends!  Hope all of you in the North Eastern parts of the US are keeping warm.  We woke up to -20 this morning.  YIKES!!!  The sun is shining but that is very deceiving.

I created this card for the Dazzling Diva challenge and the sketch over at Retro Sketches.

Here is the inspiration photo for Dazzling Diva challenge.

Here is the sketch..

As you all know StampNation celebrated it's 3rd Birthday last week.  Prizes were up for grabs from many different sponsors.  You can check out Catherine's blog here to see if you were a lucky winner!

Happy Birthday with Avery Elle!

Hi friends.  Today is the last day of StampNation's Birthday Bash celebration.  What a fun week it has been!!!  Today's sponsor is....

Isn't this stamp set the cutest?
You have a chance to win this set along with the matching dies.
To win, click here and leave a comment on Catherine's You Tube channel.
 StampNation members get two entries.

I don't have this fun set (yet) so I used my favorite set from Avery Elle, Rounded Diamonds and matching dies.   There are so many fun things you can do with these dies.  I stamped the sentiment on the Pool Party cardstock then lined up the white strips on scrap paper and stamped the sentiment over them.  I then layered the strips onto the pool party cardstock.  I saw this technique on Laura Bassen's blog.  The idea for the cute little thread behind the heart came from Laura too!  Thank you, Laura!!!!

From now until midnight Jan. 20th you can join StampNation for a
3 Day Full Membership for only $1!!
Won't you join us?

Cardstock:  Whisper White, Pool Party, Early Espresso
Ink:  Pool Party, Early Espresso

StampNation Birthday Bash with Lil' Inker!!!

StampNation's 3rd Birthday Bash continues today with a new challenge and a new sponsor....

Head on over to Catherine's blog and YouTube channel to enter to win these amazing Lil' Inker's products.

I am in LOVE with the stitched dies from Lil' Inker.  I think it adds just the right amount of wow to your projects.  This card uses the stitched stars and the Pieced Chevrons: Cover Up die.  I got my color combination from this photo found on Pinterest.  I also layered the star die cutting 3 stars in pink and 3 in gray to give the star dimension.  I saw this cool technique on JJ Bolton's blog.

Here is another card I made using Lil' Inker products....

This card uses the stitches star die again.  My original plan was to layer the dies like I had above but then decided it would be neat to make a starburst out of them.  The background uses the stitches & stripes: cover up die.

Now is the perfect time to join StampNation, not only are we in the middle of our Birthday Bash, but StampNation members get two entries into each giveaway & if you hurry you can join for a 3 Day FULL MEMBERSHIP for only $1!

Happy Birthday Catherine!!!

Hi friends!  Today is my friend Catherine's birthday and I wanted to make a special card for her.  You all know she is the founder of StampNation, right?!  I signed up for StampNation on opening day and have been a member ever since.

I have had the pleasure of meeting Catherine in person at StampNation LIVE 2013!  She is the sweetest, most encouraging & fun person I know.   I am anxiously waiting for our 2014 retreat in April to be able to see her again and hug her neck.

For Catherine's card I used StampNation's awesome logo as a sketch for my card.

Happy Birthday, Catherine!  I hope you have a great day!

Cardstock:  Pool Party, Whisper White
Ink:  Lucky Limeade, Melon Mambo, Pool Party, Crushed curry, Versafine black

Merry Monday #91

Hi friends.  Happy Monday to you.  Time for another Merry Monday challenge.  This week we want you to use a snowman on your Christmas card.

I fell in love with this snowman from Hero Arts.  It is so cute.  For my card I used the partial die cutting technique and embossing with dies technique.  I paper pieced his scarf and little strip on his hat.  The holly leaves were cut using a Lil' Inkers die.

I hope you will join us for this week's challenge.  Please visit the Merry Monday blog to see the rest of the DT's cards.

Hoping your birthday is.....

Hi friends.  I created this fun card for my niece.  We don't get to spend a lot of time with them, they live 3 hours away.  I know it isn't that far but, it isn't close either.  We did spend a few days with them after Christmas and did a little girl shopping, in the car I heard my niece say something was "amazeballs".  hahaha  I knew I had to use the set Amazeballs from CAS-ual Fridays.

I also wanted to share this card today because, as you know, StampNation is celebrating it's 3rd Birthday with a huge party and CAS-ual Fridays is the sponsor for today!  Make sure you visit Catherine's blog to see her video and enter for a chance to win some CAS-ual Fridays goodies.

Not a member of StampNation yet?  What are you waiting for?  We are celebrating StampNation's 3rd Birthday all week long!  Won't you join us?

I am also entering this over at Seize the Birthday & CASology.  (Thank you, Geri)

Sending Christmas Cheer

**This is my second post for today, scroll down or click here to see my card for StampNation's 3rd Birthday party!**

Hi again friends!  It is a rainy, dreary day here in Northern NH so I have been spending time in my craft room.  I used the colors from the new Card Concept challenge to create my "clean and layered" (I think that is where this fits) card.  I also used the sketch from My Favorite Things.

I did take some liberties with the sketch but the basic design is there.  That is what I love about sketches, they are a starting off point for your design.  The reindeer from Starry Christmas is stamped in versamark and then heat embossed with clear embossing powder.

Thank you for visiting and have a great day!
