Papertrey Ink Anniversary Celebration: Day 5

Hi everyone!
Today I am sharing a card I created for the PTI Anniversary Celebrations for
Day 5: Spring into Action challenge.

For this challenge we are supposed to choose a stamp set that we own but have never used.  This was an easy one for me.  I am pretty good about using my PTI stamps when they first arrive but Doodlie Do has been sitting in my stash for a while now.  I love this stamp set but am not a great colorer.  :)  I decided to just ink it up with different colors and do no coloring and think it looks great this way.

Now that I see this on my screen I am not sure I should have stamped the sentiment in black.
Looks a little too bold for the delicate flowers.
Maybe I will try again with a different sentiment or maybe use the hugs die instead.
What do you think?

Thank you for visiting and have a great day!

Stamps:  Doodlie Do & Big Hugs (PTI)
Ink:  Versafine Black, Berry Sorbet, Aqua Mist, Daffodil Delight
Paper:  Berry Sorbet and Whisper White
Accessories:  Rhinestones

  1. This is gorgeous Kristi. The stamp looks great in all those colors. And I LOVE the big bold black sentiment. It's exactly what I would have done. :)

  5. This is a great use for that set. I struggle with using that set because of the coloring too. The black looks good and definitely pops..

  9. Great card, I'm with you on the not-so-much into coloring. This card looks so elegant, love the color combo with the black ... Or maybe a smokey gray too....

  10. Gorgeous! I really like the black sentiment! It works well with the bold color of the card base and creates nice contrast with the soft, stamped images! Love the 'curvey' flow/movement of the 'Doodlie Do' images!

  11. What a beautiful card Kristie!! I love those colorful "flowers" and I myself love the sentiment stamped in black! It is bold and commands attention but your eye doesn't miss those flowers. I just love the movement you gave the flowers too. Hugs, Brenda

  14. I love it, but how about in gray? That color doesn't get used enough in sentiments, in my opinion, and looks softer. I really do love the card, though...those soft flowers are gorgeous!

  16. I like it exactly how it is, black and all. Really clever to just let those images shine in colored ink.
